Golden Grove Holiday Park is located 7 km from the base of the Mount and 7 km from Papamoa. It’s a great starting place to discover the diversity of the area and the wider Bay of Plenty. Our own beach access provides a welcome alternative to Mount Maunganui’s main beach. It is a lot less crowded, providing a relaxing and laid back atmosphere. Besides the beautiful beach there is a lot more to see and do close to our holiday park. You can play or watch sports at Blake Park, play mini-putt, go shopping at Bayfair or swim at Baywave, try Blo Karting on the track or go indoor rock climbing. All this and more can be found a a short distance from our gates. Mt Maunganui’s Baypark is well known as the ‘Home of Speedway’ in the Bay of Plenty, but the Blue Chip Stadium’s reputation as a multi-purpose event venue is growing. It’s a wonderful stadium for rugby as well and the Baypark event centre specialises in conferences, conventions and seminars. The 1200 sq metre indoor centre is often divided for presentations, product launches, expos and trade displays. Parking is provided for 5700 vehicles and the fast exit lanes ensure minimum delay on departure.
The Mount has a great café culture. There are many great eateries and bars downtown and many of them have tables placed outside. Why not try the authentic taste of Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine at Café Hasan Baba or sample the delights of Mediterranean cuisine at Amphora? If all this is too exotic for your tastebuds, good old Fish and Chips or nice roast dinners are widely available too. If you would like to go for a bite to eat and a drink while staying with us but you don't want to go too far from your base, we recommend Imbibe around the corner. Imbibe has a fantastic menu and bar - there is so much to choose from - and the meal sizes are very generous. They have a great ambiance, friendly staff and the service is excellent.
